The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez has voiced support for the death penalty if singer D4vd is convicted of killing the 14-year-old. The family made the comments before what would have been Celeste’s 16th birthday. Their statement comes as the murder case against D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, moves toward trial. “If the death penalty were activated, it would be perfect for this kind of human being, devoid of feelings and emptiness inside, and without conscience,” the family said, according to TMZ. The family added that the case’s ultimate outcome rests with “God” and the California justice system. Burke has pleaded not guilty to the murder allegation. A judge ruled in July that prosecutors presented sufficient evidence for him to stand trial. The case has drawn significant attention because of Celeste’s age and Burke’s profile as a recording artist. Universal Pictures is adding more hip-hop history to “Snoop,” its upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic. SwayvoTwain will portray The Notorious B.I.G., while Bentley Green takes on the role of RBX. G Perico will play Big Reecie Cup. Jonathan Daviss stars as Snoop Dogg in the film, which Universal calls the “definitive biopic” of the rap icon. The casting brings several figures tied to Snoop’s early career and Long Beach roots. It also places Biggie inside a story shaped by hip-hop’s legendary coastal divide. Christopher Wallace, known worldwide as The Notorious B.I.G., became one of the 1990s’ most influential rappers. Despite their affiliations with rival rap camps, Biggie and Snoop shared mutual respect. Snoop represented Death Row Records during the label’s West Coast reign. RBX also became part of Death Row’s early history after signing with the label alongside his cousin, Snoop. Big Reecie Cup adds another connection to Snoop’s Long Beach story. His role will help explore the people surrounding Snoop before worldwide fame arrived. Craig Brewer directs “Snoop” and rewrote the screenplay from Joe Robert Cole’s original script.
